Pineapple Jones and the New Lovers is a San Francisco band excited to combine funk, blues, rock, and – lest we forget – Balkan jazz into a musical explosion that will keep your abdominals convulsing all night. The band members – hailing from all over New England, Old England, and California – met originally during college in the great state of North Carolina. It took them a move cross country to unite their diverse musical backgrounds, which range from chamber choir to Musician’s Institute, from semi-professional jazz percussion to that one douchey acoustic guitar guy on the main quad.
Under the influence of artists such as Stevie Wonder, Jerry Garcia, Vulfpeck, and John Mayer, Pineapple Jones strives to have audience members leave shows with stanky looks plastered on their faces. Through the fusion of timeless classics with modern groove and steamy improvisation, Pineapple Jones presents a signature sound that must be experienced to truly be heard.
