We are BACK for 2016 and our first guest in the new year is Jon Gilman, a.k.a. “A.N.I.M.A.L.”. He is a Co-Founder and Contributing Editor for the dance music blog www.MyMusicIsBetterThanYou
(MMIBTY). Through his travels and experiences in life he has developed a particular fondness for electronic music. He quickly realized he was able to put on the perfect track at any given time and create playlists that all his friends thoroughly enjoyed. As this progressed and Jon continued to explore the nightlife in Boston, which was often lacking in dance music, he kept finding himself saying “I really want to DJ”. Once he made the decision to buy some equipment, the race was on. He quickly taught himself the do’s and don’ts of spinning while receiving advice from friends and experts in the industry. From here ANIMAL began spinning around Boston, putting together mixes for friends and readers of the blog. While he’d like to someday produce his own music, for now he is working on honing his skills and making people dance.
